The R. Wayne Pace HRD Book of the Year Award, presented by the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD) and named after the organization’s founding president, is presented to the authors of a Human Resource Development (HRD) book identified as outstanding in advancing the theory and/or practice of the profession. For books to be considered for this award, they must focus on HRD, organization development, personnel training/development, or more specific areas of HRD. These qualifications, and others, were essential to this publication being honored at the recent awards ceremony during the AHRD Conference.

About the Editors:

Robert_Hamlin

Prof. Robert (Bob) G. Hamlin is Emeritus Professor and Chair of Human Resource Development at the University of Wolverhampton in the UK and Honorary Treasurer of the University Forum for Human Resource Development- an international association for universities, reflective practitioners, and learning oriented organizations. His research is focused mainly on perceived managerial and leadership effectiveness and managerial coaching effectiveness within public, private and third sector organizations in the UK and in other countries within Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America and South America. The findings of his research have been published nationally and internationally in a wide range of management and HRD related books and academic journals.

Andrea_Ellinger

Prof. Andrea D. Ellinger recently retired as a Professor in the Department of Human Resource Development in the Soules College of Business at The University of Texas at Tyler where she remains affiliated. She is a former editor of Human Resource Development Quarterly and was the recipient of the 2012 Academy of Human Resource Development Outstanding Scholar of the Year Award. She has been the recipient of several teaching, research, reviewing and service awards. She is a member of several Editorial Boards. She has published multiple refereed journal articles, book chapters, and refereed conference proceedings and has presented her research regionally, nationally, and internationally. Her research interests include informal learning, organizational learning and learning organizations, managerial coaching, mentoring, employee engagement, organizational change and development.

Jenni_Jones

Prof. Jenni Jones is Associate Professor in Coaching and Mentoring and Course Leader – PGCert/PGDip/MA in Coaching and Mentoring in the Human Resources and Leadership Department at the University of Wolverhampton Business School. She has held a variety of HR, Learning and Development and Organisational Development roles within both the private and public sector. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in Coaching and Mentoring at the University of Wolverhampton Business School, where she teaches and researches in the area of Leadership, Diversity, Change, Learning, Coaching and Mentoring. The findings of her research have been presented at a variety of national and international conferences and been published in a wide range of coaching and mentoring, and HRD related academic journals. Jenni also leads a variety of external organisational change related projects and has worked with a number of Police Forces, the NHS, City Councils and a large number of private organisations, in the UK and beyond.
